My First Publishing

There are a lot of non-ideal situations that photographers find themselves in, and for that reason many of them are very jaded. Luckily for me, I am still in the honeymoon phase.

Last week was the first time I ever shot a basketball game. I was terrified I would come back with terrible pictures. But as it turned out, I had a lot of fun and came back with a few pictures I am really proud of. This image ended up in the Columbia Missourian which was my first picture to ever be published in print. On the one hand it is silly to be excited because the Missourian is staffed by students so I am bound to be published many more times throughout the semester. On the other hand, there is nothing like seeing your photo in the newspaper! I am hoping this will serve as a reminder when I feel the fascination stage fading that photography is a blast and so rewarding.
